Mahant Chaturvedi strongly disapproves of his daughter marrying Gopi, who does not belong to their caste, and breaks off all ties with them. Years later, Gopi attempts to make amends by bringing his grown-up daughter, Sandhya, an accomplished dancer, to her grandfather.
